Background
Financial management is about planning, organizing, directing and controlling the financial activities such as procurement and utilization
of funds of the projects. It is applying general management principles to the financial resources of the project so that it ensures proper and
efficient use of money. Delivering results from investment projects and programs are vital for the development of a nation. Good financial management promotes overall fiscal discipline and efficient allocation of resources to priority needs. It also ensures that all transactions and balances relating to the
project are recorded correctly and completely so that accurate and timely financial reporting and auditing are enabled.
In this regard, the training program on financial management has been designed for effective implementation of project financial management.

Course Aim
The aim of this course is to enhance the financial management knowledge and skills of the participants.

Objectives of the Course
At the end of this training program, participants are expected to be able to:

• understand financial management concepts, including ADB’s financial requirements; and
• apply ADB’s financial reporting and auditing requirements.

Course Contents
The training course will be organized to deliver the following contents:

• Overview of ADB’s Financial Management requirements
• ADB’s Financial reporting and auditing requirements
• FM in project completion and loan closure
• Disbursement procedures
• Client portal on Disbursement
• Preparation of withdrawal application and statement of expenditure

Training Approach and Methodology
The training will mainly based on interactive presentation, brainstorming and discussion. Due to current pandemic situation and the measures taken by the Government of Nepal in response to the outbreak of COVID-19, this program is being conducted online.

Duration
The program will be implemented for seven working days with about 2 hours of session every day.
